Business Development
Address issues impacting the agri-business and small business community. Create a community entrepreneurial atmosphere that fosters communication of ideas, networking, educational opportunities, and assistance programs including management expertise, technical assistance and business guidance. Recognize outstanding small business/business people that exemplify high standards and are worthy of emulation. Work with members to continue to develop and implement activities and programs that add value to Chamber membership, broadening the financial base and support of its activities, which leads to growth and development for the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce.
Communications
Inform, communicate and market Chamber events and issues facing the business community first to Chamber members, then media and prospective members. Handle all publications, press and media activities, Web sites and sustaining functions of the Lubbock, the Giant Side of Texas campaign.
Legislative Affairs
Represent Lubbock area businesses in government activities at all levels and serve as the pro-business advocate in local, state and national arenas. Help shape Lubbock and the surrounding area’s transportation infrastructure now and in the future.
Leadership
Serve as a catalyst to identify and coordinate business, education and community resources to enhance the quality of education and leadership in Lubbock and the general knowledge of our community.
Membership
Bring in new Chamber memberships on a continuous basis and work to retain at least 88 percent of existing membership. Create interest and awareness in the Chamber and continue to develop new memberships to enhance the growth of the Chamber. Coordinate with Chamber staff to ensure focus of membership sales program is integrated into daily functions of Chamber operations.
Hispanic Business
Provide Hispanic businesses with the resources, tools and networking opportunities to enhance and grow their business. Cultivate an inviting atmosphere for minority businesses within the Lubbock business community. Recognize outstanding small minority businesses that exemplify high standards. Identify and mentor Hispanic business leaders. Provide access to capital through programs with partnering organizations. Offer customized training to meet the needs of small Hispanic business owners.
